The first quarter was tight, with both sides trading goals and penalties to keep the scores level. Sarawak took control in the third quarter to pull ahead, then extended the lead to 3 goals in the fourth to seal the gold medal 9-6.
Sarawak's scoring was spread across the roster: Presley Phang (cap 2) and Jay Vickneswaran (cap 7) each scored 2, as did Julius Abbas Anak (cap 8), with Samuel Chong (cap 6) and Elmer Chong (cap 11) adding 1 apiece.
