Close Start, Then Selangor's Defense Took Over

A tight first quarter, decided by just 4 points, gave way to a dominant Selangor second quarter as their defense took control of the game. Selangor played through two red cards of their own — goalkeeper Hayson Ling was ejected for allegedly kicking the goalposts during a penalty, and coach Kenny was sent off for crossing the 6m line. The backup line held strong enough to keep WPKL off the board past 5 goals for almost an entire half.

WPKL had discipline problems of their own. Star forward Teo Zun Jet was held to just a single goal against Selangor's defense before being ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct in the fourth quarter, while Diwen Choo was sent off for kicking.
