Sarawak opened their SUKMA 2026 men's water polo campaign with an 18-13 win over Negeri Sembilan in the tournament's first men's fixture, pulling clear in the closing minutes after a tight, physical contest.
Negeri Sembilan put up a good fight throughout, with number 5 Adison scoring repeatedly to keep the scoreline close for long stretches. But Sarawak proved the more dominant side, with Presley and Ong Zhong Liang both finding the net multiple times to break the game open in the final two minutes, turning a tight contest into a five-goal margin by the final whistle.
The win gives Sarawak an early statement as the men's water polo competition gets underway at SUKMA 2026. Full results and photos from each session are available on the Atlas Poolside SUKMA briefing page.
