Eliza Ai Shen Tan Shatters National Record as Selangor Sweeps Day 2
Eliza Ai Shen Tan broke the national record in the Women's 100m Freestyle, and Selangor claimed six of eight finals to open a commanding lead atop the SUKMA XXII medal table.
Day 2 of SUKMA XXII swimming at the National Aquatic Centre delivered the meet's first national record and a statement from the host contingent. Selangor's Eliza Ai Shen Tan lowered her own national mark in the Women's 100m Freestyle final, touching in 56.78 to shave a quarter-second off the 57.03 standard she had set in the morning prelims — a rare same-day double record.

Selangor dominated the finals session, topping six of the eight events. Daniel Scott Williams won the Men's 200m Backstroke in 2:07.81, Shannon Yan-Qing Tan took the Women's 200m IM in 2:21.68, and Aslan Adnan and Li Hen Goh went 2-3 behind Pulau Pinang's Elson Chun Hong Lee in the Men's 200m IM (2:07.57).

Wilayah Persekutuan answered with a win of their own as Nishan Christopher Manuel took the Men's 50m Butterfly in 25.06, edging Terengganu's Abdul Karim Jaafar Bin Azhar and Sarawak's Matthias Ming Zhi Liew. Xin Lin Chong made the podium twice for WPE, taking silver in the 50m Fly and gold in the Women's 200m Backstroke (2:18.73).

Pulau Pinang's Zen Yi Tan won the Women's 50m Butterfly in 28.38, while Cheng Feng Loo led a Pulau Pinang 1-2 in the Men's 100m Freestyle, out-touching teammate Yu Jing Tong 51.12 to 51.46.

The results push Selangor to the top of the combined medal table with 8 golds, ahead of Wilayah Persekutuan's 6 and Pulau Pinang's 3. Full results, splits and the updated medal tally are live now on the startlist search.
